JAKARTA - Social media activist Eko Kuntadhi spoke about Ade Armando who was beaten badly by a group of people in front of the Jakarta DPR Building on Monday, April 11.

Eko said Ade's voice was like the demands of the All-Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI) which was voiced in front of the Senayan Parliamentary Complex today. That's why Ade came to the demo site.

"As far as I know, Ade Armando is the person who most strongly rejects the idea of an extension or 3 periods. His voice is conveyed firmly. Me and @Dennysiregar7 also share the same view. We strongly reject the idea. So maybe Ade can relax when covering the demonstrators," said @_ekokuntadhi via his Twitter account, @_ekokuntadhi, Monday 11 April.

The similarity about what was voiced with BEM SI forgot Ade about the potential for mass action to be infiltrated by certain parties.

"But Mr. Ade forgot. In the field, people don't have brains that come together. They only have hatred and violence," he said.

Ade then became the butt of a group of people in the DPR Building area. His face was beaten so bruised that blood came out of his temples.

Photos obtained by VOI show Ade's pants were also taken off. He was hastily embraced by the police into the gates of the DPR for safekeeping.

"They persecuted Ade Armando ruthlessly. They intended to humiliate him. Because they are not a demonstration for aspirations. They want to seek riots," he said.

The BEM SI demonstration in front of the Jakarta DPR Building was chaotic on Monday 11 April afternoon. The riots occurred shortly after representatives from the DPR leadership together with the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit met the crowd in front of the DPR gates.

The crowd pelted the Senayan Parliament Complex with stones. The police responded by issuing a water canon.

Based on VOI's monitoring at 16.24 WIB, the police continued to beat the crowd away from the front of the Jakarta DPR Building. The police fired a number of tear gas at the students who were concentrated in a number of points.
