JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 rocked the Jayapura region, Papua, early Sunday at 04.22 WIB.

Based on information from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on the www.bmkg.go.id page, it is stated that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 53 km.

The coordinates of the earthquake are located at 3.12 latitude-139.98 east longitude.

The epicenter of the earthquake was on land 20 km southeast of Jayapura Regency, Papua.

The earthquake can be felt on the Modified Mercally Intensity (MMI) III scale in Jayapura and II-III in Wamena, as reported by Antara.
