JAKARTA - Fraudulent investments continue to haunt the public. There have been many victims. The losses were not small, even reaching tens of billions of rupiah.

As happened in Central Kalimantan. The Director of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Kalimantan Police, Kombes Bonny Djanto, said that two married couples had been arrested for committing fraudulent investment fraud.

"The two people are now languishing in the local Police's detention house and are threatened with 10 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 10 billion," he said, as reported by Antara.

Bonny added, related to the case that caused the victims to suffer losses of tens of billions of rupiah, development is still ongoing to track the whereabouts of the assets of the two perpetrators. This is because some of the assets belonging to two people with the initials PNJ (60) and his wife BC (42) have also been confiscated by investigators.

"This case is also planned to be subject to money laundering, but everything is still being studied by investigators," he explained.

Bonny said the police were committed to eradicating criminal acts of online or online fraud as well as fraudulent actions with other modus operandi. He also asked the public to be aware of fraudulent investment scams that promise more profits.

"Don't be easily tempted by investments that offer a lot of benefits, because that's one of the tricks of the fraudsters to lure people into joining," he said.

The officer with the third rank of jasmine emphasized that people are not easily deceived by things like that. The public is reminded not to easily believe by participating in the online investment, if they do not know the legality or the permit is really valid.

"Most of these fraudulent investment cases are fraudulent, they do not have permission for the platforms they offer to the public. Therefore we must be vigilant if we want to invest using this online," he said.
