Harry Tanoe's Perindo Party Focuses On People's Economy Program To Get DPR Seats In The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - Perindo Party DPP chairman Heri Budianto said his party focused on running populist economic programs, in order to get the people's vote so that it could pass the parliamentary threshold (PT) of 4 percent.

"The main program of the Perindo Party is to improve the people's economy, by increasing the assistance of carts for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs)," said Heri at the Perindo Party DPP office, Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Friday, April 8.

According to him, the MSME empowerment program is Perindo's focus, so it will continue to be developed and maximized so that it is implemented properly.

Heeri said the community economic empowerment program was one of Perindo's strategic steps to face the 2024 election and pass the parliamentary threshold.

"We are a political party that does work in the field, for example providing social assistance when a natural disaster occurs," he said.

The coordinator of the spokesperson for the Perindo Party admitted that in the 2019 election his party had not been able to pass the parliamentary threshold, so he could not place his cadres in the DPR.

However, according to him, the failure in the 2019 election was a lesson for his party to prepare for the 2024 election, one of which was by maximizing the role of its 408 cadres in the district/city and provincial DPRD.

"In the 2019 election, Perindo won 408 seats in the regency/city and provincial DPRD. We believe that future political work can penetrate the 4 percent parliamentary threshold in the 2024 election," he said.

Heri said his party is also preparing factual verification to register with the General Elections Commission (KPU) to participate in the 2024 election contestation.
