RIAU - Head of Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Riau Mhd. Jahari Sitepu said that the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in his ministry would be fired if proven guilty of extortion and corruption.

"If it is caught by me that someone is still trying to play (extortion and corruption), then be prepared to be withdrawn and removed," said Jahari Sitepu in Pekanbaru, Antara, Friday, April 8.

He conveyed this affirmation in front of all the heads of the Immigration UPT who are within the Riau Kemenkumham Regional Office, to ensure that the Immigration ranks have worked according to the rules.

He stressed that the Immigration staff must work with integrity, stay away from abuse of authority and never get involved in illegal levies and gratuities.

Soon, he said, Riau will enter a transition period, from a pandemic to an endemic. All activities will return to normal. International airports and ports will also be opening soon. Likewise, the border gates with neighboring countries, so that all ranks are expected to be prepared, not to be carried away by the pandemic period where everything is completely restricted.

"Regarding several international gates in Riau Province which will soon be opened in the coming week such as the Dumai International Port, the entire Immigration Office has to prepare the things needed for the smooth process of monitoring the traffic of people at national borders," he also said.

“All of you my children, fine work. Don't do anything. Activate the Pora Team, if you check Immigration documents, don't look for mistakes. And remember, don't want to be bribed, keep the good name of this ministry," he said again.

Regarding efforts to anticipate the spread of COVID-19, the Regional Head of Regional Office reminded all immigration personnel to always maintain health and be disciplined in implementing health protocols.

"To the administration, we ask that the budget for preventing the spread of COVID-19, such as buying masks, medicines, vitamins and others, be accelerated immediately. This is for the smooth operation of officers in the field and the protection of officers," he said.

In addition, Jahari ordered all office heads to report what happened in their respective areas of authority. Do not make decisions on your own, report and ask for direction from the leadership, so that later you will not be blamed if something unexpected happens.

"Once again I emphasize, work according to the SOP. Don't try to play with fire. If someone disobeys, report it to me, so that I can develop it,” said Kakanwil to the head of the UPT.
