BADUNG - Officers from the Class II Penitentiary (Lapas) in Kerobokan, Bali, foiled the smuggling of methamphetamine narcotics brought by an online motorcycle taxi driver (ojol) with the initials ODM.

This methamphetamine was ordered by a resident of the Kerobokan Correctional Center (WBP) with the initials HS.

"A task force officer who was entrusted with or visited the Class IIA Kerobokan prison thwarted the smuggling of methamphetamine in the Kerobokan prison area," said Kerobokan Class IIA Lapas (Kalapas) Fikri Jaya Soebing, Friday, April 8.

The methamphetamine was brought by an ojol driver at around 13.30 WITA. But because the officers were suspicious, the milk box was dismantled by Kerobokan prison officers.

Turns out it contained methamphetamine. The motorcycle taxi driver was immediately arrested.

"Maybe (the ojol courier) was not involved because (the customer) used (the application) when we asked earlier. But, we'll see how it progresses. For the goods, it's more or less one package, for the weight (don't know) because it wasn't weighed," he added.

Regarding this case, Kerobokan Prison officers handed over the inmates and motorcycle taxi drivers to the Bali Province BNN.

"We have submitted it to the Bali BNNP. We have zero tolerance for drug offenders. We will meet and develop in collaboration with related parties," said Fikri.
