JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, responded to the question of the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD which has again launched a discourse on exercising the interpellation rights of Formula E.

Riza said that the right to ask the DPRD to the Governor of DKI Jakarta regarding the implementation and budgeting of Formula E is indeed allowed by law.

"In principle, we are a democratic country. Interpellation is one of the rights of council members. Yes, go ahead," said Riza at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, April 8.

However, instead of interpelling, Riza asked the DPRD to simply open a dialogue room with the DKI Provincial Government. This statement is in line with what Riza once said when the right of interpellation was proposed by PDIP and PSI in August last year.

"If possible, it can be discussed, discuss it. The provincial government and the DPRD so far have a good relationship, between the executive and the legislature. We carry out all input on problems, recommendations, we carry out properly. So, as far as it can be discussed, we can discuss it," he explained.

For information, the Honorary Board (BK) of the DKI Jakarta DPRD decided that the Chairman of the DKI DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, did not violate ethics when he held a plenary meeting to determine the interpellation rights of Formula E a few months ago.

Then, there was an impetus for Prasetyo, who is also the Chairman of the DPRD Deliberative Body (Bamus) to hold another meeting to determine the schedule for the interpellation plenary meeting.

Currently, the process of interpellation rights proposed by PDIP and PSI is still pending. The DPRD leadership has not yet scheduled another interpellation. Gilbert Simanjuntak, a member of the PDIP faction of the DPRD DKI, sees that this process must be continued.

"Looking at the progress of the implementation of Formula E to date, it is very important to continue the interpellation which is still postponed. At this time there are no more reasons for the 7 factions to refuse to conduct the interpellation, so that everything is clear. It's just a matter of whether you want to side with the people or not," said Gilbert.

Similarly, the chairman of the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD, Gembong Warsono, emphasized that the Formula E interpellation had not been terminated until now. He said, the Jakarta DPRD Bamus only had to reschedule the plenary meeting to determine the interpellation which had been delayed for several months.

"There is only one stage left, which is to be re-mixed to continue the postponed plenary session. So, we want to reschedule the plenary session which was postponed due to not having a quorum in the plenary discussion the other day," said Gilbert.
