JAKARTA - The school of SDN 02 Cikini, Central Jakarta issued a leaflet stating that all students must wear Muslim clothes during the month of Ramadan.

The head of PTM SDN Cikini 02, Ikin Waskin, confirmed the circular letter. However, he said there was an editorial typo in the letter.

"That's the fault of our editor, actually not all students but Muslim students only wear Muslim clothes," Ikin told reporters at SDN 02 Cikini, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Thursday, April 7.

Ikin said the error had been conveyed to the supervisor. He said the Ramadan activities were only attended by Muslim students.

"That has been conveyed and the supervisors are also still in the sense that there is no real problem. Because indeed the activities in the month of Ramadan we do for Muslims, if Muslims have teachers, like there are different activities, we separate them," he said.

Ikin explained that his staff had provided an explanation to the parents of the students. He said the activities had been going well so far.

"There were parents who were non-Muslims who asked about this. But we have already explained that there was an error from our editor who said it was not quite right," he said.

Meanwhile, Class 6's Teacher, Erina confirmed it was a typo. He said there was no discrimination against non-Muslim students.

"Yes, it was the editor's fault. The principal, right, this is a big school, he has a lot of activities, when he makes notes to be typed into the operator, he puts a lot of notes together, in Jakarta it's always sudden. the teacher does not correct, we as teachers also have a lot of activities," he said.
