MINAHASA TENGGARA - The Basarnas Pos Amurang team managed to find four climbers from Minahasa Regency who were reported missing on Wednesday (6/4) night on the Mount Soputan hiking trail in Southeast Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi.

"We have managed to find four climbers who were reported missing in the climbing area of Mount Soputan and are safe," said Basarnas Post Coordinator Amurang Hartje Raintama in Ratahan, quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 7.

Hartje revealed that the four male climbers had contacted their families and said that they no longer knew the direction of the hiking trail.

"They called their parents and informed them that they didn't know where to go, but not long after the climbers' cell phones ran out of batteries. Based on this information, parents immediately reported them to the Basarnas office," he said.

After a search, the four climbers were found on Thursday at 08.50 WITA, around the climbing route of Mount Soputan.

"The search team spread out from two hiking trails, from the direction of Silian Village, Silian District, Southeast Minahasa Regency, and from Pinabetengan Village, Minahasa Regency," he said.

There were 15 personnel deployed in the search process, namely from the North Sulawesi Basarnas Main Office and the Amurang Basarnas Post.

Hartje added that the climbers who had been found were handed over to their respective parents. "All the climbers we have found are in good health and have been handed over to their families," he said.
