Sent To Tangerang Class 1 Prison, Edhy Prabowo Enters Mapenaling Block

TANGERANG - Former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo is officially serving his term in prison in Class 1 Tangerang. The head of the Tangerang Class 1 prison, Asep Sunandar, confirmed that the convict in the lobster seed export bribery case was detained at his place. "Yes, that's right, yesterday (5 April) afternoon he entered (to Tangerang Class 1 Lapas," Asep said via text message to VOI, Wednesday, April 6. Asep said, Edy was placed in the environmental introduction block (mapenaling) for two weeks. Later the convict in the lobster case will be placed in Block G. "Still in the Mapenaling block for two weeks. (Furthermore, it will be placed) in Block G," he said.

Previously reported, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) executed the former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo. The convict in the lobster seed export bribery case was sent to Tangerang Class I Lapas to serve his sentence. "The convict was admitted to the Tangerang Class I Penitentiary to serve a five-year prison sentence minus the detention period since the investigation stage," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Sector Ali Fikri in a written statement, Wednesday, April 6. Ali said the execution was carried out by the KPK Execution Prosecutor Hendra Apriansyah on Tuesday, April 5. The basis for the execution was the decision of the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court Number: 26/Pid.Sus-TPK/2021/PN. Jkt. Pst dated 15 July 2021 in conjunction with the Corruption Court's Decision at PT DKI Jakarta Number: 30/Pid.Sus-TPK/2021/PT. DKI dated November 1, 2021 in conjunction with Supreme Court Decision Number: 942K/Pid.Sus/2022 dated March 7, 2022.
