REJANG LEBONG - The Food Task Force of Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province, has confirmed that the prices of nine basic necessities in the area are still stable.

"From the survey we have conducted in the market, for now, the prices of basic necessities have not increased and are still stable, only beef and tilapia have increased," said Rejang Lebong Regent's Expert Staff for Ekbang and Finance, Rosita M.

Rosita conducted market monitoring with the Food Task Force of Rejang Lebong Regency. He explained that before entering Ramadan, traders sold beef for Rp. 130,000 to Rp. 150,000 per kg, then tilapia rose to Rp. 30,000 from the previous Rp. 26,000 per kg.

The increase was due to high demand from the public while supply was limited. Meanwhile, rice, sugar, flour, chicken meat and vegetables are still relatively stable. These prices are expected to remain stable until approaching Eid.

Meanwhile, Rejang Lebong Police Chief AKBP Tonny Kurniawan said his party would take action against those who hoard food during Ramadan and Eid.

From the observations of his party with the Food Task Force at Pasar Atas and Pasar De Curup, the selling price of bulk cooking oil is still high above the HET set by the government of Rp. 14,000 per kg, because the stock is still empty.

Meanwhile, Head of Bulog Rejang Lebong Guslindawati said the current stock of rice is 527.6 tons and is estimated to be sufficient for the next few months for the three districts.

In addition to rice, his party also prepared a stock of two tons of flour, 50 tons of sugar, 3.9 tons of frozen meat, and 2,400 kg of packaged cooking oil, which were procured through distributors in Curup City.
