President Jokowi's Son Meets Secretary General Of Gerindra, Gibran: There's Political Conversation But It's Secret

SOLO - Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka received a visit from the Deputy Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani in Solo, Wednesday, and discussed various issues, including political issues.

"Yes, there is a chat about the party, but it's a secret", said Gibran in Solo, Wednesday, April 6.

Regarding the potential of the Gerindra Party to cooperate with him to run for the DKI Jakarta Regional head election, Gibran was reluctant to respond.

"I'm not going anywhere, wong is here for another year (as Mayor of Surakarta)", said the first son of President Joko Widodo.

When asked about the target of leading the city of Solo, he admitted that there was no specific target. Whether or not he will be the mayor of Solo depends on the will of the residents, he said.

"If the residents still want it, then continue; if it doesn't want it, then yes, I'm not trading. Just flow, while learning", he added, quoted by Antara.

However, he admitted that he planned to meet Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto at the right time.

"It will be scheduled first, he (Prabowo) is a busy person. Later I will just face him, to Jakarta", he said.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Muzani, who is also the Secretary-General of the Gerindra Party, said the General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, conveyed his greetings and hoped to meet with Gibran.

"He wants to meet the mayor at any time. The mayor (Gibran) also wants to meet, please arrange a time", he said.

Regarding his visit which brought the political interests of the Gerindra Party, Muzani said that now was the moment to establish intimacy ahead of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional head election.

"I speak what I said. This is a year of intimacy, not tension. Everyone is looking for their own partner. If the meeting with Pak Prabowo is waiting for time, you don't know where it will be", he said.

He also considered Gibran to be one of the prototypes of young leaders.

"His characteristics are creative, innovative, always making progress, which is now starting to be shown by many young leaders. Mas Gibran is one of them", he said.
