River Normalization In Flood Prone Areas In IKN Needs Billions Of Rupiah

PENAJAM PASER UTARA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, stated that the normalization of rivers in flood-prone areas in the Sepaku District, the location of the State Capital or IKN Nusantara, requires billions of rupiah in funds.

According to the Head of BPBD for North Penajam Paser Regency, Marjani, river normalization has included bridge repairs to the construction of siring.

According to him, river normalization must be carried out from upstream to downstream, with long-term calculations.

Part of the IKN Nusantara area, namely Sukaraja Village, Sepaku District is a flood-prone area.

"The most vulnerable position in Sukaraja Village is the problem of soil sedimentation (sedimentation) in river flows, so there must be river normalization. The watershed (watershed) in Sukaraja Village has never been normalized in a long time," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 6 .

In order to control river flow, he continued, secondary canals are needed to be repaired by the provincial and district governments.

The normalization of the watershed is under the authority of the central government and the provincial government. because the area is in the IKN Nusantara area.

"The calculation of the budget needed for river normalization in Sukaraja Village is around Rp. 1 to Rp. 3 billion," explained Marjani.
