JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko said all staff at the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) had never asked for financial support from the public.

"The policy of KSP is that there is no outside begging, all KSP activities are fully supported by the state budget; and if anyone asks outside of that, I assure you it's a fraud," said Moeldoko at the KSP office as reported by Antara, Wednesday, April 6.

It is known that a letter was circulated with KSP letterhead addressed to the Mayor of Cirebon Nasruddin Azis, who asked for Rp800 million in compensation for orphans, orphans, and disadvantaged groups, on behalf of the Main Expert Staff of the Presidential Staff Office Ali Mochtar Ngabalin.

According to the letter, the money will be distributed by President Joko Widodo.

"And if any of my members really do that, I will remove him, because everyone who comes here has brought an integrity pact," he said.

According to Moeldoko, in addition to the letter in the name of Ngabalin, there was also a forged letter to the head of the Minahasa land office on behalf of Deputy V KSP Jaleswari Pramodawardhani.

"In KSP, you don't know about this, the intelligence of the special presidential staff. Sometimes photos are posted outside and say 'I'm a KSP person'. This letter from Pak Ngabalin I need to clarify that Pak Ngabalin's signature is not correct, and it's not true using KSP letterhead. Everything is faked," he explained.

He also asked Ngabalin to report to the police to clear KSP's name from fraud.

"So, tomorrow morning (Thursday 7/4), Pak Ngabalin will report to the Criminal Investigation Agency for follow-up; and I remind the Indonesian people, if someone claims to be like that, don't hesitate to confirm with the Presidential Staff Office so we can clarify. Don't be afraid," he said.

According to him, there are at least two purposes of the fraud, namely enriching oneself and worsening KSP's image.

"In the past, professional experts were expelled because their performance was not good, especially those who asked for (money). So, I made sure there were no requests for help (on behalf of KSP). The public should not be harmed and I also don't want the name of KSP to be tarnished," he added.

He explained that every KSP staff has an identity card equipped with a barcode, so that when the barcode is scanned, it will be known whether the card is genuine or fake.

"He could have believed. But again, we already have security like this. Often I receive a Whatsapp (message) asking, 'Sir, there are people claiming to be KSP, this is how it is.' I'm sure it's not. Arrest him. I often get like that," he said.
