Rahmat Effendi Builds Glamping, But The Money Is Allegedly From The 'Palak' Proceeds Of The Camat And ASN In Bekasi

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the Mayor of Bekasi, Rahmat Effendi, has built a glamping site using money withdrawn from the sub-district head and state civil servants (ASN) in the Bekasi City Government.

This allegation was investigated by nine witnesses who were examined by investigators on Tuesday, April 6. The witnesses were the Head of the Population Control and Family Planning Service Marisi, the District Head of North Bekasi Zalaludin, the District Head of East Bekasi Widi Tiawarman, and the District Head of Pondok Gede Nesan Sujana.

The other witnesses to be examined were the Bantar Gebang sub-district head Asep Gunawan, the Mustikajaya sub-district head Gutus Hermawan, the Jatiasih Mariana sub-district head, the ASN Inspectorate Dian Herdiana, and the Bekasi City BPKAD secretary Amsiah.

"Located at the KPK's Red and White Building, the investigative team has examined a number of witnesses for the suspect RE," said Acting Spokesperson for the KPK for Enforcement, Ali Fikri in a written statement, Wednesday, April 6.

From that examination, investigators explored the allegations about the construction of glamping which was then named after Rahmat Effendi. In addition, the money used is thought to have come from sub-district heads and civil servants in Bekasi City.

"Witnesses were present and confirmed, among others, related to the alleged order to withdraw a sum of money by the suspect RE from the Camat and ASN Bekasi City Government to build glamping," said Ali.

"It is suspected that the ownership of Glamping is in the personal name of the suspect RE," he added.

As previously reported, the KPK developed a case of alleged bribery in the procurement of goods and services as well as a job auction that ensnared Pepen. As a result, he was later named a suspect in the alleged crime of money laundering (TPPU).

This determination is made after the investigator collects evidence from the examination of witnesses. From this activity, the KPK suspects that Pepen has committed a series of actions to spend, hide, or disguise assets obtained from accepting bribes.

For information, in the alleged bribery case, Pepen was named a suspect in receiving bribes along with the Secretary of the Investment and PTSP Service, M Bunyamin; Head of Jatisari Village, Mulyadi; Jatisampurna Sub-district Head, Wahyudin; and Head of the Bekasi City Housing, Settlement and Land Office, Jumhana Lutfi.

Meanwhile, the bribe giver is the Director of PT MAM Energindo, Ali Amril; private party, Lai Bui Min; Director of Kota Bintang Rayatri, Suryadi; and the sub-district head of Rawalumbu, Makhfud Saifudin.
