BEKASI - The Bekasi Regency Government received an additional allocation of booster vaccines from the Ministry of Health through the West Java Provincial Government to support efforts to accelerate COVID-19 vaccination in the area.

"We received yesterday for the booster vaccine, the total is 164,000 doses," said Head of the Bekasi Regency Pharmacy UPTD Bayu Biharussyfa in Bekasi, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, April 6.

He explained the additional allocation of booster vaccines, each with 150,000 doses of AstraZeneca and 14,000 doses of Moderna.

His party immediately distributed the vaccine to a number of health facilities in the local area. Since yesterday, health workers from the puskesmas visited his office to collect the requested vaccine allocation.

"It has been running, every day we receive requests for this booster vaccine from health centers that run out of vaccine stock," he said.

As of Tuesday, April 5 evening, there are 10,640 doses of Moderna in stock in pharmaceutical warehouses with an expiration date on 26 April 2022, while AstraZeneca has all been distributed.

The Bekasi Regency Pharmacy UPTD also has 31,760 doses of Sinovac brand COVID-19 vaccine, 146,920 doses of Conecavac (Astra) with an expiration date of 18 April 2022, and 39,620 doses of Covovac vaccine with an expiration date of 30 April 2022.

"In addition to AstraZeneca, our Sinopharm and Pfizer brand vaccines have also run out of stock," he said.

According to the provisions of the Ministry of Health, Bayu said, all of the COVID-19 vaccines can now be used for the implementation of booster vaccinations.

Deputy Spokesperson for the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 for Bekasi Regency, Masrikoh, said that so far 399,116 residents in the area have been vaccinated with booster doses.

"The booster vaccination achievement increased significantly, 16 percent of the total vaccination target of 2,417,794 people," he said.

He said the trend of increasing the achievement of the third dose of vaccination was influenced by the government's policy which made booster vaccinations a requirement for travelers for Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijriah.

"Our target is that 30 percent of residents have received the third dose of vaccination before the Lebaran homecoming period," he said.
