Bogor Health Office Receives Stock Of 5,845 Booster Vaccines

BOGOR - Bogor City Health Office, West Java received a stock of 5,845 vials of Astrazeneca vaccine to achieve the target of 30 percent or 245,833 people from 819,444 targeted residents during Ramadan 1443 Hijriah.

"Arrived yesterday afternoon, the use of one vial depends on the previous vaccination of each resident, using the Sinovac or Astrazeneca vaccine as well," said Head of the Health Service Sri Nowo Retno as reported by Antara, Tuesday, April 5.

Retno conveyed that as many as 5,845 vials of vaccine were distributed to the public by the Bogor City Health Service, Bogor City Police and Bogor City Military Command 0606.

In one vial of Astrazaneca, he said, 20 people could get booster vaccines if previously vaccinated using Sinovac. This is because residents who received the first and second doses of Sinovac only needed half the Astrazeneca dose for their booster vaccination.

However, one vial of the Astrazaneca vaccine can only be used for 10 people for booster vaccination for people using the same vaccine before.

"God willing, we can still reach the target," he said.

Retno said that the vaccine stock that was starting to become available again could be obtained by the public through the vaccine centers provided, both in malls and health centers.

Referring to the Fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) number 13 of 2021 which states that COVID-19 vaccination by intramuscular injection does not invalidate fasting and may be carried out as long as it does not cause harm.

On that basis, the Bogor City Health Office will continue to pursue complete or second vaccinations to booster vaccinations for targeted residents.
