JEMBER - A total of 43,206 Idul Fitri train tickets in the work area of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Operational Area (Daop) 9 Jember, East Java, have been sold.

"As of April 4, 2022, there are 43,206 long-distance train tickets or 25 percent of the total tickets provided by Daop 9 Jember during the Lebaran transportation period," said Vice President of PT KAI (Persero) Daop 9 Jember Broer Rizal, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 5th.

According to him, KAI has set the Lebaran transportation period, namely D-10 to D+10 Lebaran or April 22 to May 13, 2022. People who want to order Lebaran homecoming tickets can go through KAI Access, the kai.id website, and all other official KAI ticket sales channels.

"We also appeal to prospective passengers to look for alternative dates and routes if the desired train tickets for Lebaran homecoming have run out," he said.

The public can take advantage of the Connecting Train feature in the KAI Access application, which will help provide alternative train travel by combining train schedules with connectivity properties.

"The trains that are most in demand during the Lebaran transportation period are the Sritanjung KA Ketapang Banyuwangi - Lempuyangan Yogyakarta (PP) and Probowangi Ketapang Banyuwangi - Surabaya City (PP) trains with the most departure dates on 29 and 30 April 2022, and 1 May 2022," he said.

Broer said the public's interest in going home on favorite dates and routes was quite high. However, in general, train tickets during the Eid transportation period in the Daop 9 Jember area are still quite available.

"KAI is also still preparing additional train trips for Lebaran transportation this year, so that people can take advantage of the rail transportation mode for Lebaran homecoming," he said.

During the Lebaran 2022 transportation period, he continued, KAI began to apply new requirements for departures starting April 5, 2022 according to the issuance of the Ministry of Transportation's SE No. 39 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Rail Transportation during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

"Train passengers who do not fulfill the requirements will be refused departure and are welcome to cancel their tickets," he said.

KAI will ensure that all passengers apply the health protocols that have been set by the government, which aims to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 on rail transportation modes amid increasing public interest in going home on Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri.
