Cianjur Regency Government Prioritizes Road Construction To Tourist Places

CIANJUR - The Cianjur Regency Government, West Java, has prioritized the construction of roads to tourist attractions in the southern region of Cianjur with a budget of Rp. 87 billion, including the construction of connecting roads between villages in several sub-districts in the southern region, which are in very bad condition.

Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman said he would prioritize the construction of district roads whose condition was damaged connecting villages, sub-districts and to tourist attractions such as in Pagelaran District which is the access to Curug Ngebul.

"We prioritize liaisons between villages and sub-districts that are connected to existing tourism objects, so that they can improve the economic wheels of local residents. Economic growth can certainly run if the infrastructure is good in each sub-district," he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 5.

So that the priority for repairing and building connecting roads belonging to the district can be completed by 2023, so that the program of 1,000 kilometers of good roads in Cianjur can be achieved and will start from Cidaun District along 38 kilometers connecting six villages.

Herman hopes that when the district road has been repaired, it must be supported by repairing the provincial road to southern Cianjur which is also damaged, so that it can be connected seamlessly when residents or tourists want to cross from the provincial road to the district road.

"If it can run simultaneously, when district roads are repaired, followed by provincial roads which are also repaired, so that the target of 1,000 kilometers of smooth roads in Cianjur can be achieved and the number of tourist visits can increase," he said.

Meanwhile, residents in a number of sub-districts in the southern area of Cianjur, hope that the government will immediately repair roads so that residents will not find it difficult to carry out economic activities, especially the expensive costs due to the damage to the connecting road between villages in Pagelaran District.

"We hope that development will be evenly distributed throughout Cianjur, since the road is damaged, transportation costs from Pagelaran to Cianjur or vice versa become expensive. We hope that the repair of district roads in Pagelaran will be a priority because it is the main route to tourist attractions," said the youth leader of Pagelaran Gofur.
