TPKS Bill Will Be Brought To The Baleg Plenary Meeting Tomorrow, Panja Targets Synchronization And Harmonization To Be Completed Today

JAKARTA - The draft Law on the Crime of Sexual Violence (RUU TPKS) is planned to be brought to the plenary meeting of the Legislative Body (Baleg) of the DPR RI on Wednesday, April 6, tomorrow.

The Chairperson of the TPKS Bill Working Committee, Willy Aditya, explained that this meeting was scheduled for the framework of making a first-level decision on the bill. He said that the invitation for the meeting had been sent to the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives for Political and Security Affairs Lodewijk F Paulus.

"We will try tomorrow afternoon at 1 (the plenary meeting of decision-making level I of the TPKS Bill). I have sent the invitation to Mr. Lodewijk because the one who signed is the Deputy Chair of the Korpolkam Division," said Willy at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 5th.

Willy said that today the Panja will focus on completing the synchronization and harmonization of the TPKS Bill. The DPR Baleg will continue the discussion on electronic-based sexual violence (KSBE) in the TPKS Bill by presenting linguists.

Willy targets this activity to be completed today. Because, he said, half of the 90 synchronized points have been implemented.

"Today we present a linguist, yesterday there was a little missed, yesterday the linguist didn't come. So yesterday's meeting was only until 16.00 WIB, if there was a linguist we would actually invite him until last night, yes," he said. said that electronic-based sexual violence in the TPKS Bill still uses the same language. According to him, language experts are needed when discussing the TPKS Bill to harmonize foreign languages.

"Yesterday, the most we adopted was a victim trust fund, as a victim aid fund. After that, is electronic-based sexual violence still the language? But after being harmonized, we still use the same language, KSBE, electronic-based sexual violence. linguists," explained Willy. "The law cannot use a foreign language, right. Assessment is often used in the language of medicine and psychology. We will adapt that later and several other things. This is the progress today. " he continued.

Willy admits that the first-level decision-making was delayed by one day as targeted. However, he emphasized that the postponement of the decision-making schedule would not be a problem.

"I was just trying to give a chat yesterday, can this be plenary tonight? To be safe, tomorrow, my friends say. So, so that I don't get nervous, the work period is being chased. (So) let the firm be right," he concluded.
