The House Of Representatives Expects Economic Recovery Amid The Improvement Of The Pandemic Felt By The Community

JAKARTA - The chairman of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, assesses that the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic which is starting to stretch must be followed by economic recovery to the lower classes.

"Just as the health recovery is felt by the community at all levels, the economic recovery must also be felt by the community down to the lowest level," he said in a statement in Jakarta, Tuesday, April 5.

He said the condition of economic recovery should not only be on paper and should not be just numbers but must be felt by the people.

According to him, the people's economic recovery must be felt immediately. Therefore, all conditions and challenges that make it difficult for the people to experience economic recovery must be immediately addressed by the government.

"Don't let the government talk about economic recovery during the transition period and the prices of commodities and fuel will actually increase. Especially when people's needs and mobility are increasing, approaching Eid Al-Fitr," said this woman politician from the PDI-P.

He appreciated the mutual cooperation of all elements of the nation in efforts to control Covid-19, which is increasingly finding a bright spot.

However, according to him, the government's statement regarding the trend of economic recovery in the Covid-19 transition period must be in line with what the people feel. Moreover, a number of incentive programs, such as the abolition of income taxes that were applied during the pandemic, are no longer valid.

"Don't let all the relief for the people during the pandemic have been stopped one by one, but the economic recovery has not been felt, so that the people's economic burden is not reduced but instead is getting heavier," he said.
