Just Three Days Of Fasting, The Furniture Workshop In Duren Sawit Caught Fire Because A Child Played With Firecrackers

JAKARTA - Sparks of firecrackers again caused a fire in a furniture workshop in the Duren Sawit area, East Jakarta. The incident occurred on Monday April 4, evening.

The incident was only discovered when residents reported to the Fire Brigade that a fire had occurred at around 20:52 WIB.

From the residents' information, it is known that a furniture workshop located on Jalan Amal 3, RT 03/01, Pondok Bambu Village, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta caught fire.

"The object that burned down an area of 109 square meters belonged to Zaini. As a result of the fire, Zaini suffered losses of up to Rp. 50 million," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Gatot Sulaeman to reporters, Tuesday, April 5.

From the results of the officer's data collection, it was later discovered that the fire was caused by an explosion of firecrackers. The fire is thought to have originated from the explosion of firecrackers played by local children.

"The cause of the fire was from firecrackers hitting a pile of wood shavings. At first, the fire was seen by residents and immediately spread to the roof," said Gatot.

Then residents had time to carry out the process of extinguishing the fire independently by using manual equipment. After the firefighters arrived, the officers helped residents and collected data.

"Alhamdulillah, there were no fatalities as a result of this fire. One family head with 4 people was saved," he said.
