BANDUNG - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil checked the price of cooking oil in Cipedes Village, Sukajadi District, Bandung City.

Ridwan Kamil said the check was carried out to ensure stable cooking oil prices, as well as to anticipate the hoarding of cooking oil.

According to him, the West Java Provincial Government is moving quickly to solve the cooking oil problem. One of them is by preparing the Sapa Warga application to make it easier for people to get cooking oil.

"We are still preparing to make it easier for the community, the West Java Provincial Government will innovate by ordering bulk (cooking oil) via the Sapa Warga application. Maybe in a few days, we will start. So that residents can receive oil, they don't have to go far, just bring it at the RW house each," said Kang Emil as Ridwan Kamil was quoted as saying by Antara, Monday, April 4.

Based on the results of checking, Kang Emil found that the bulk cooking oil sold was far from the Highest Retail Price (HET).

"According to today's review, many are sold at inappropriate prices. The inspection results, which should have been Rp. 15,500, were sold for Rp. 25,000 because the items are scarce," he said.

"I checked with the office, there are also many producers who are reluctant to shift their production to bulk subsidies, because each subsidy from the center is reimbursed, it must be distributed first and then claimed," he continued.

Regarding the anticipation of hoarding, Kang Emil has coordinated with the West Java Police Chief Inspector General Suntana. If later there is something that looks suspicious and has the potential to be criminal, it will be dealt with directly with the support of the High Prosecutor's Office.

"Anticipation of hoarding? We have coordinated with the Kapolda, any potential crime will be dealt with, especially now that the prosecutor's office has news that they are preparing to prosecute those who have the potential to violate the law regarding the availability of cooking oil," he said.
