JAKARTA - The Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the National Police Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi said the number of violations on toll roads decreased during the application of electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE).

"In general, there has been a decrease in violations since the action took effect on Friday (1/4) or 3 days ago," Firman said as quoted by Antara, Monday, April 4.

It was explained that the action consisted of violating the load limit and violating the speed limit. The decrease in traffic limit violations for the DKI Jakarta toll road, namely the first day 148 violations, the second day 571 violations, and the third day one violation.

For the Transjawa-Central Java toll road, the first day 303 violations, the second day 427 violations, and the third day 29 violations.

Meanwhile, speed limit violations have also decreased. Firman gave an example on the Polda Metro Jaya Toll Road, the Transjawa-Central Java Toll Road to the Trans Sumatra Toll Road.

"For the Trans Sumatra toll road which is in the jurisdiction of the Lampung Police, there has also been a decrease in the capture of speed limit violations from 2,580 on the first day, 1,683 on the second day, to 631 violations on the third day," said Firman.

Firman revealed that the results of implementing ETLE on toll roads also increased the safety culture of motorists.

The implementation of toll road ETLE, according to him, is a positive progress. He hopes that ETLE points will be massively implemented in other locations.

"It is hoped that these ETLE points will be implemented more massively so that the number of traffic accidents, especially on toll roads, can be reduced to zero accidents," said Firman.

For information, the Korlantas Polri has implemented ETLE Speedcam (speed violation) on 14 toll roads. There is also ETLE WIM (overloading the load limit) on seven toll roads.

Previously, the Korlantas Polri had also conducted socialization from March 1 to March 31, 2022. This regulation was effective as of April 1, 2022.
