BANDA ACEH - The Suzuya Mall Banda Aceh shopping center caught fire on Monday, April 4 at around 11.30 WIB and the cause is not yet known. It is also not known whether there were casualties in the accident or not.

Firefighters from the Banda Aceh Fire and Rescue Service (DPKP) and related agencies are still trying to extinguish the fire. Fire trucks take turns extinguishing the fire.

Head of Section for the Development and Development of Firefighters at the Banda Aceh DPKP, Yudi, said that when a fire first occurred, the source of the fire should have been extinguished first with a Light Fire Extinguisher (APAR) so that it does not grow bigger.

"Suzuya has fire protection, when we arrived the fire had already grown," Yudi said in Banda Aceh.

The process of extinguishing the fire has been going on for more than 2 hours. However, the fire is still not completely extinguished.

According to Yudi, the first fire emerged from the Suzuya Mall warehouse, which is a place to store all the shopping center needs, from clothes, cake ingredients and other equipment, and even a bang was heard from the location.

According to him, the sound came from equipment, such as baygon, perfume, not from the sound of gas.

It was off, after a few seconds it turned on again. So, the fire burns and then goes out, goes out, burns again, because behind that is pampers, cloth, combustible materials.

In addition, access to extinguish the hotspots is also difficult, because by the time the fire trucks arrived, the fire had already grown.

BPBD, TNI, Polres, assisted by the community have also issued 11 LPG cylinders weighing 40.11 kg. Ten units of fire engines from the cities of Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar, went back and forth to extinguish the fire.

There were 25 personnel from the fire department who were deployed to extinguish the fire, as well as five structural officials from Banda Aceh City and about 20 personnel from Aceh Besar.

Regarding the cause of the fire, Banda Aceh DPKP did not know and handed it over to police investigators.
