JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff General Dudung Abdurachman received the award of Dan-5 Judo and a certificate from the Executive Board of the All-Indonesian Judo Association (PB PJSI).

The series of activities began with a moment of silence led by the Army Chief of Staff, General Dudung, to express his condolences for the death of Sertu Eka in Papua. In the Ground Floor Tribune of Building E of the Army Headquarters (Mabesad), the Army Chief of Staff emphasized the need to thoroughly investigate this incident so that it does not happen again.

The awarding of Dan-5 Judo to Dudung was carried out through the installation of a black belt by the Teacher Council Sensei Sinyoku and Sensei Irwan. Then the Dan-5 Judo certificate was handed over directly by the General Chairman of PB PJSI Lt. Gen. Maruli Simanjuntak.

General Dudung thanked PB PJSI and the Board of Teachers, as well as the entire Indonesian Judo community for conferring the Dan-5 Judo. He promised that he would increase his motivation to encourage Indonesian Judo to be more advanced and develop, as well as to excel, especially within the Indonesian Army.

In this momentum, the Army Chief of Staff invites all Judo soldiers and athletes wherever they are and on duty, to continue to be determined to become reliable, tough and outstanding athletes so that they can take part better at higher events at the international level.

In the Dispenad release, Saturday 2 April, the Army Chief of Staff also congratulated the General Chair and Executive Board of PJSI and the Executive Committee on the holding of the 13th KSAD National Judo Cup Championship in 2022. It is hoped that PB PJSI can also compete in the Military Class, to revive the Judo Union. Army (PJAD) with a training center at the 1st Infantry Division Headquarters Kostrad, Cilodong.

On the occasion of the awarding of Dan-5 Judo, General Dudung demonstrated several slamming techniques that are characteristic of the main movement of Judo martial arts.
