JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) will intensify raids on Commercial Sex Workers (PSK) during Ramadan.

"We will carry out intensive raids from alcohol, WTS or commercial sex work to people with Social Welfare Problems," said West Jakarta Satpol PP Operations Section Head, Sumardi Siringoringo, quoting Antara, Friday, April 1.

Sumardi said that his party would focus on raids for sex workers in Taman Sari and Grogol Petamburan because in both locations there are many entertainment venues and boarding houses.

Later those arrested will be taken to the Bina Insan Bangun Daya 1 Social Institution, Kedoya, West Jakarta for guidance.

They will do a medical test first to make sure they are exposed to COVID-19 or not.

"If it's positive, it's isolated, if it's negative, it's still mixed with people inside," he explained.

Guidance for PSK will last for several days before being finally released from the Social Institution, a similar procedure also applies to PMKS caught during raids, said Sumardi.

Sumardi could not confirm exactly when the PSK raid would take place. His party is just waiting for direct orders from the Head of the DKI Satpol PP and the Head of the West Jakarta Satpol PP to carry out these activities.
