Ministry Of Home Affairs Appreciates Bobby Nasution, Medan The Only City In Indonesia With 96.79 Percent Vaccination Achievements

MEDAN - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) appreciates the Medan City Government, North Sumatra, for its success in achieving COVID-19 vaccination.

"Medan is the only best city in Indonesia in terms of achieving the first dose of vaccination, which is 96.79 percent," said Director General of Regional Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Safrizal in Medan as reported by Antara, Friday, April 1.

This was stated by Safrizal, who is also the Deputy Chair of the National Task Force for Handling COVID-19 after handing over the Karya Bhakti Peduli Award for the Medan City Civil Service Police Unit at Wisma Benteng Medan.

For this vaccination achievement, he continued, Medan City is higher than the average district/city in North Sumatra, which is 93.91 percent, and the national achievement is only 94 percent.

Likewise with the second dose of vaccination, he said, Medan City is also one of the best cities in Indonesia because it has reached 86.87 percent.

"This figure of 86.87 percent is higher than the average in North Sumatra which is still 76 percent, and the national achievement is still 75 percent. I thank you and be successful," said Safrizal.

Safrizal said that this success as conveyed by the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution could not be separated from the collaboration carried out by all relevant parties in this area.

"Without collaboration, there is zero. With collaboration, God willing, all targets can be met. I believe Medan City will continue to advance in all sectors. This is a blessing for Medan City to get an energetic mayor," said Safrizal.

Meanwhile, Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution previously said that the consequences of this task of enforcing regional regulations gave rise to an unfavorable view from the public towards the Civil Service Police Unit officers.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the city of Medan, he said, the burden of the Medan City Civil Service Police Unit increased in enforcing health protocols.

"Alhamdulillah, now the case of COVID-19 in Medan City is sloping. This is inseparable from the role of the Medan Satpol PP in enforcing the prokes," said Bobby.
