JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the inactive North Penajam Paser Regent Abdul Gafur Ma'sud ordered the use of a fictitious identity to produce a land plot control letter at the construction site for the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago.

This allegation was investigated through eight witnesses on Thursday, March 31 at the East Kalimantan Police Mobile Brigade Headquarters Office in Balikpapan. Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Ali Fikri said all witnesses were present.

The eight people examined were the Head of Sepaku, PPU Regency, Risman Abdul; four civil servants (PNS) Muhammad Saleh, Panggih Triamiko, Yuliadi, Muhammad Jali; and three private employees, Abdul Karimem, Sugeng Waluyo, and Masse Taher.

"The witnesses were present and their knowledge was studied, among others, related to the alleged inclusion and use of fictitious identities of the witnesses as directed and ordered by the suspect AGM which was intended for a letter of control of regional plots in several core locations for IKN development," said Ali in his written statement, Friday, April 1 .

Still on the same occasion, investigators have also examined the Acting Regent of North Penajam Paser (PPU) Hamdam; Head of Sarpras for SMP at Disdikpoira, PPU Muhajir; and Head of Sarpras Elementary School at PPU District Disdikpoira Andi Herman.

From that examination, they were investigated regarding Abdul Gafur's role in managing the project at the SKPD in the North Penajam Paser Regency Government.

"Witnesses were present and confirmed, among others, related to the alleged direct involvement of the AGM suspect in managing various projects at each SKPD in the PPU Regency Government," Ali explained.

Previously, the KPK named Abdul Gafur as a suspect in receiving bribes related to the procurement of goods and services as well as licensing at the North Penajam Paser Regency Government.

Apart from Gafur, there are five other people who have been named as alleged recipients, namely the Acting Secretary of the North Penajam Paser Regency, Mulyadi; Head of Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning of North Penajam Paser Regency Edi Hasmoro; Head of the North Penajam Paser District Education, Youth, and Sports Office, Jusman; and the General Treasurer of the Balikpapan Democratic Party DPC, Nur Afifah Balqis.

Meanwhile, as a suspect for giving bribes, the KPK has named a private party, Achmad Zudi.

Their determination was initiated from the catching operation (OTT) which was held on Wednesday, January 12 in Jakarta and North Kalimantan. From the results of the action, the KPK confiscated Rp1 billion and Rp447 million in accounts belonging to Balqis.
