DEPOK - The City Government (Pemkot) of Depok, West Java, has proposed six draft regional regulations (raperda). The proposal was submitted to the legislature at the DPRD plenary meeting, Thursday, March 31.

"The six regional regulations were drafted due to two main factors. First, the central government has issued new laws and regulations so that the existing regional regulations (perda) must be adjusted," said Depok Mayor Mohammad Idris in his statement, Friday, April 1. reported Antara.

The second factor is because there is a higher order of legislation that mandates the formation of a regional regulation as the implementation of regional autonomy.

Idris mentioned the six Raperda, namely the Raperda of Depok City regarding the Revocation of the Regional Regulation of the City of Depok Number 5 of 2007 concerning the Implementation of Population Administration, the Raperda of the City of Depok concerning the Guidance of Construction Services, and the Raperda of the City of Depok concerning Tree Protection.

Furthermore, the Raperda of the City of Depok concerning the revocation of the Regional Regulation of the City of Depok Number 10 of 2012 concerning Groundwater Management, the Raperda of the City of Depok concerning the Capital Participation of the Regional Government of the City of Depok in Goods to PT Tirta Asasta (Perseroda), and the Raperda of the City of Depok concerning the Establishment of Reserve Funds for Election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Depok in 2024.

Idris hopes that the six regional regulations can be accepted by the Depok City DPRD so that there can be discussions and approval to become regional regulations.

It was also explained that these regional regulations are needed as legal certainty and umbrella in the administration of government.
