BOGOR - First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo invited the wife of the Prime Minister (PM) of Papua New Guinea Rachel Marape to tour the Bogor Botanical Gardens as one of the agendas for welcoming the visit of the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, James Marape.

Iriana also accompanied Indonesian President Joko Widodo when he received an official visit from Papua New Guinea Prime Minister (PM) James Marape with a delegation at the Bogor Presidential Palace, Thursday, March 31.

Iriana and Rachel were seen participating in planting sandalwood trees with President Jokowi and PM Marape.

The two of them also chatted warmly and intimately on the veranda along with a face-to-face meeting between President Jokowi and PM Marape.

After that, Iriana took Rachel to visit the Bogor Botanical Gardens by riding a golf cart. While walking around, Iriana seemed to show Rachel the diversity of various plant species in the Bogor Botanical Gardens.

After touring the Bogor Botanical Gardens, the two first ladies returned to the Bogor Palace. They then accompanied President Jokowi and PM Marape to deliver a joint press statement.

The state lunch was also the closing of this official welcoming series.

On that occasion, Iriana handed Rachel a silk scarf as a memento. Meanwhile, Rachel handed him a carved ebony bowl and a cane basket.
