Total Residents Of Palangka Raya Have Been Injected With Second Dose Of COVID-19 Vaccine Reaches 99.24 Percent

KALTENG - The total residents in Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan (Kalteng), who have received the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine, reached 99.24 percent of the target 223,417 people.

"As of last Wednesday, there were 221,728 people or 99.24 percent of the 223,417 targets for the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination," said Palangka Raya Mayor Fairid in Palangka Raya, Thursday, March 31.

Meanwhile, the achievement of the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination reached 258,741 people or 115.81 percent of the target.

Data from the Palangka Raya COVID-19 Task Force shows that 223,417 vaccination targets are divided into five categories, namely health human resources with a target of 3,512 targets, 14,287 elderly targets, 21,920 public services targets, 154,647 targets for the general public and 29,051 targets for youth.

Vaccination targets in local cities were also extended to children aged 6-11 years. Fairid, who is also the Head of the Palangka Raya COVID-19 Task Force, invites the public to always apply health protocols, thereby minimizing the potential and preventing the spread of the corona virus.

His party is currently also intensifying the booster dose of COVID-19 vaccination in order to welcome Ramadan 1443 Hijriah.

"Soon we will enter Ramadan. In order to strengthen immunity, we are accelerating vaccinations. So, residents are safe and protected from the threat of the virus in carrying out activities during the fasting month," he said, as reported by Antara.

Vaccine supplies in the "City of Beauty" area are still safe and sufficient for some time to come. If it starts to run out, his party will immediately communicate with the provincial government to increase the supply of vaccines.

Among the strategies for administering vaccines during Ramadan, the Palangka Raya City Government will follow and adapt to the MUI fatwa Number 13 of 2021 regarding the COVID-19 vaccine law while fasting.

Whereas, the implementation of administering vaccine doses for Muslims is still carried out during the day in order to run effectively.

This effort is a way to protect the public from exposure and risk of contracting COVID-19. Vaccinations are carried out by health centers, hospitals and at service outlets held by various other parties who work together and are directly involved in the program.
