Apparently Ex-HTI And FPI Activists Move Silently, Minister Of Religion Orders Banser And GP Ansor To Stand By

JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the Youth Movement (GP) Ansor as well as Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, asked GP Ansor and Banser to be alert to the potential that could damage pluralism in the country.

He believes that there are still traces of former Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) and former Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) activists roaming around with the aim of disrupting diversity.

This was conveyed by Yaqut during the XXV Grand Conference (Konbes) of the Ansor GP, Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan which took place from 30-1 April 2022.

"So the concept of the congress in the future really anticipates the national situation, which in my opinion is increasingly difficult. The challenges of diversity are still emerging, the challenges are still emerging, then religious groups who use as tools or tools to fight for their interests are also still massive in their movements. ," said Yaqut, quoted from the Ansor Youth Movement YouTube, Thursday, March 31.

He explained that HTI and FPI had been dissolved by the government. The activities of the two former mass organizations have been declared illegal. However, Yaqut said, the activists of the two former mass organizations were still moving quietly.

"Although we are able to dissolve HTI and FPI with the government, they are still intertwined underground, still moving in their own way, these are all works, please think about this," he said.

Yaqut said that in dispelling the activities of former HTI and FPI members, synergy from all parties was needed. He emphasized that Banser and GP Ansor must help the government in order to maintain diversity and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

"Of course we can't allow the state apparatus to deal with them alone, ex HTI, former FPI of the same kind, yes. We can't leave it to the state apparatus to deal with it alone," he said.

On the same occasion, Yaqut said Konbes XXV GP Ansor would formulate important policies related to the anticipation of GP Ansor against the COVID-19 pandemic. A number of policies that are considered obsolete will also be reviewed so that they are no longer applied.

"At the previous Konbes, we will re-examine whether there are rules that are no longer in accordance with the current time and situation, which need to be reviewed or not. We will discuss later," he said.
