Woman Suspected Of ODGJ, Her Legs Pinched By An Iron Bench In The Park, Firefighters Come To Give Help

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) has again evacuated people with mental disorders (ODGJ) in the Pasar Rebo area, East Jakarta, Thursday, March 31, morning.

The evacuation process began with a report by members of the TNI that a resident suspected of having a mental disorder was trapped in a park. East Jakarta Gulkarmat officers immediately dispatched a rescue unit to the scene.

"Four rescue personnel were dispatched to the location of the incident, which is located on Jalan Jati, RT 01/04, Cijantung Village, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta. Evacuation began at around 06.56 WIB," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Head, Gatot Sulaeman to reporters, Thursday. March 31.

After collecting data at the location, an unidentified woman was found with one of her legs caught in the gaps of an iron bench in a park.

"The victim is a woman allegedly ODGJ. She is about 25 years old," he said.

The process of evacuating victims did not last long. It only took the officers 5 minutes to evacuate the victim's legs.

"The victim's leg was evacuated at 07.05 WIB. The victim was saved," he concluded.

Meanwhile, regarding the cause of the ODGJ woman being squeezed, officers are still asking for information from a number of eyewitnesses to the incident.
