PAPUA - The Papuan Food Task Force checks or monitors the availability of diesel fuel in Jayapura.

Head of the Papua Food Task Force, Kombes Rico Taruna, said that as a first step in monitoring, his party met with Pertamina Jayapura. During the meeting, it was discovered that there was sufficient stock of diesel, especially for Jayapura.

"People don't need to worry," said Rico in Jayapura, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, March 29.

He added that there were indeed queues at several gas stations due to supply problems. To be sure, Rico ensured that his party would conduct a direct inspection of the gas station.

Region Manager Retail Sales Papua-Maluku Awan Raharjo added, the availability of fuel at 21 BBM terminals in Papua-Maluku is safe. Especially for Jayapura, the availability of diesel fuel is more than five days and delivery does not experience problems so that supplies are safe.

Pertamina is trying to maintain the quota in Papua-Maluku until it is expected to last until the end of the year. In addition, his party cooperates with the police for supervision at gas stations specifically for subsidized diesel.

So far, there are two gas stations in Jayapura City and Regency that are not supplied with diesel as a form of sanctions. The quota for the two gas stations, namely Waena and Nimbokrang, is distributed to gas stations in the vicinity.

"Papua-Maluku in 2022 will receive a diesel allocation of 192,570 kl or an increase of 0.6 percent, while specifically for Jayapura as much as 107,567 kl," explained Awan Raharjo.
