Ridwan Kamil: Tarawih Prayers Can Be Side By Side Again As Usual, As Long As You Continue To Wear Masks

BANDUNG - Governor of West Java (West Java) M Ridwan Kamil allowed and gave permission for Muslim citizens to perform Tarawih prayers in mosques with prayer rows not spaced apart during Ramadan. But must stick to strict health protocols or wear masks.

"First of all, basically all activities are allowed to be carried out as long as you continue to wear a mask. In fact, tarawih prayers can be side by side as usual as long as you continue to wear a mask," said Ridwan Kamil at the Sate Bandung building, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 29.

Permission is also given or allowed for residents who will hold iftar together during Ramadan, said Ridwan Kamil.

"Including iftar (fasting) together, also please, it's just that officials are coordinating, may attend or not, but the public may," he said.

At this time, continued Ridwan Kamil, all activities are not restricted, as long as they continue to wear masks.

"So all of those (health protocols of 3M or TM) we are reducing now to 1M, which is the most important thing to keep wearing masks," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding booster vaccination, Ridwan Kamil said that currently it is being maximized before going home at the end of Ramadan, including at homecoming posts, there will be a booster vaccine service to accompany those who go home.

"So, the translation of Pak Jokowi's policy is that everyone can go home from the third vaccination (booster)," he said.

Regarding areas that lack booster vaccines, such as Bekasi City, Ridwan Kamil emphasized that the head of the service must be able to handle it.

"So, the head of the health department should be able to handle it. Because usually the ones that want to expire we shift to the ones that are lacking. It's a daily routine for those that are excessive, we shift them," he said.
