JAKARTA - Two perpetrators of theft of motorized vehicles (curanmor) did not move when they were arrested by members of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim) of the Tanah Abang Metro Police. The two suspects are known to have the initials IM (23) and DS alias Belo (25).

In their action, IM and DS are the perpetrators of theft with different reports. The two were also arrested at two separate locations.

"The perpetrator IM (23) acted on March 22, 2022 at Jalan Dukuh Pinggir V, Kebon Melati, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta. Meanwhile, IM's colleague with the initials EH alias R is still being searched," said Tanah Abang Metro Police Chief Kompol Haris Kurniawan to reporters, Tuesday 29 March.

IM acts as the executor of the motorcycle theft. He carried out the theft by using the letter T key. Meanwhile, the suspect EH (DPO) was in charge of monitoring the situation.

When IM managed to dismantle the ignition of the victim's motorbike, it turned out that IM's actions were caught by a victim named Soleh. The victim shouted at the IM perpetrator while pursuing him.

"The suspect IM fled to Jalan KH Mas Mansyur. IM was also caught by the Criminal Investigation Unit who was conducting an area observation, while the perpetrator EH escaped," he said.

IM was also taken to the Tanah Abang Sector Police Headquarters along with evidence of a letter T key and 9 letter T keys, a motorbike lock magnet and an automatic motorbike belonging to the victim.

Meanwhile, the suspect with the initials DS alias Belo committed the theft of a motorbike belonging to the victim named Elizar on Jalan Karet Pasar Baru II, Karet Tengsin, Tanah Abang.

DS also uses the letter T key in the theft of a motorbike. He was arrested after the victim made a report.

"From DS, a white Honda Beat with number B 3081 PAL was confiscated," said Kompol Haris.

The police chief said that the suspect IM was a recidivist. He had been arrested in the same case, namely theft.

From the results of the urine test, it was found that the two perpetrators tested positive for methamphetamine.

"So apart from economic motives, the two suspects are under the influence of drugs. Both are charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code," he concluded.
