Although 2 Of Its Soldiers Were Killed By KKB In Nduga, The Army Did Not Intend To Add Troops

JAKARTA - The Commander of the XVII/Cenderawasih Military Command, Major General Teguh Muji Angkasa, confirmed that there would be no additional TNI troops in the Nduga Regency area after the attack on Quary Bawah Post, Kenyam District, by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) last weekend.

"We do not have additional personnel in the area because there is already personnel from the Kodim and the Assignment Battalion Task Force", Major General Teguh said to the media crew in Timika, Tuesday, March 29.

Currently, he said, the situation in Kenyam, the capital of Nduga Regency, has gradually recovered.

"The conditions there are conducive and under control", he said as quoted by Antara.

The Pangdam Cenderawasih said that the attack on Quary Bawah Post, Kenyam District, Nduga, on Saturday, March 26 that caused the death of two Indonesian Navy soldiers was a crime, so law enforcement must be carried out against the perpetrators.

The TNI has made a police report for this incident.

"According to the current regulations, their actions are armed criminal acts, and we have made a police report so that the legal process will be followed up. The perpetrators must be arrested and prosecuted", said Major General Teguh.

Until now, the TNI is still carrying out an in-depth investigation of the weapons used by the KKB when they attacked the Marine 3 Mupe Task Force Post in Kenyam District, Nduga Regency.

"The investigation is still being done to find out in detail what really happened there at that time", he said.

The attack on Quary Bawah Post, Kenyam District, Nduga which occurred on Saturday, March 26 killed two Indonesian Navy soldiers, Marine Second Lieutenant Muhammad Iqbal as Platoon Commander (Danton) and his subordinates, Private Marine Wilson Anderson Here.

The two Indonesian Navy soldiers who died received a posthumous promotion of one level.

Thus, the ranks of the two soldiers who died became Marine First Lieutenant Muhammad Iqbal and Posthumous Praka Wilson Anderson Here.

The two soldiers died while serving in the Muara and Coastal Task Force Battalion 3 of the Marine Corps of the Indonesian Navy with a total of 35 members.

Dozens of soldiers were attacked by KKB led by Egianus Kogoya. KKB fired grenades from two directions, namely from behind the market and the direction of the Alguru River at around 17.00 local time.
