SEMARANG - Police are investigating a case of suspected robbery and murder at the Focus Nusantara camera shop located on Jalan Diponegoro, Semarang City, Central Java.

The victim who died was identified as Supriyono (37), who was a night watchman at a former restaurant and shop complex in the area.

Head of Criminal Investigation at the Semarang Polrestabes AKBP Donny Lumbantoruan said the alleged robbery and murder incident began with a public report to the Gajahmungkur Police at 06.15 WIB about the discovery of a person lying on the ground and covered in blood.

The police who received the report then headed to the location to conduct an investigation at the scene. The result, said Donny, was a knife allegedly used by the perpetrator to kill the victim.

In addition, the police also found equipment belonging to the perpetrator, such as welding tools and other equipment around the robbery location.

"We found evidence of a knife allegedly used to stab the perpetrator and equipment to break into a shop were also found at the location," he said.

The scene of the incident itself is still continuing to determine the number of cameras that the perpetrators managed to take away.
