BAZNAS And Bank Muamalat Indonesia Collaborate On Zakat Ease Services

BAZNAS and PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk establish cooperation in providing zakat facilities through the use of banking products and services to optimize zakat collection

JAKARTA - The National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) and PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk have established cooperation in providing zakat facilities through the use of banking products and services to optimize the collection of zakat, infaq and alms (ZIS).

This was raised in the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) conducted by the Chairman of BAZNAS, Prof. Dr. KH. Noor Achmad, MA and CEO of Bank Muamalat Achmad K. Permana at BAZNAS Head Office, Jakarta, Thursday 24 March.

“We would like to thank Bank Muamalat Indonesia for being willing to cooperate with BAZNAS. This is in order to increase the potential of zakat in Indonesia, which we are currently maximizing," said the Head of BAZNAS Prof. Dr. KH. Noor Achmad, MA in a press release received by VOI, Tuesday, March 29.

Prof. Noor hopes that the collaboration between BAZNAS and Bank Muamalat Indonesia can run smoothly and successfully. This collaboration is also an effort of BAZNAS in realizing the donation service that the community wants.

“BAZNAS and Bank Muamalat Indonesia are part of the sharia economic ecosystem in Indonesia. The two cannot be separated from each other. Hopefully we can together raise the Zakat Love Movement throughout Indonesia, "said Prof. Noor Ahmad.

Meanwhile, CEO of Bank Muamalat Indonesia Achmad K. Permana in his speech said, this collaboration provides great benefits for both parties, so that it can help the economic development of the nation and state, especially in alleviating poverty and improving the welfare of the people.

"We hope that Bank Muamalat can contribute to facilitating Baznas in using the infrastructure owned by Bank Muamalat. Second, Bank Muamalat can provide access to Baznas to access all of our customers through our electronic network. On the other hand, of course we hope that Bank Muamalat can become the bank of choice for Baznas muzakki," he said.

Permana also hopes that this collaboration can make it easier for the public and Bank Muamalat Indonesia customers to perform worship, by accessing services via Bank Muamalat ATMs and the service features provided by Bank Muamalat.

BAZNAS and Bank Muamalat also hope to provide mutual benefits through other collaborations that can make a positive contribution to the development of the Islamic economy in Indonesia.
