SAMARINDA - Deputy Chair of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of East Kalimantan (Kaltim) Muhammad Haiban said that before the Holy Month of Ramadan, worship in the area, God willing, will not cause a spike in COVID-19 cases.

"For worship, it is clear that it must be holy. If it is not holy, it is not permissible to carry out worship and it is not valid to worship. So believe Muslims before worshiping God willing, they are clean," said Haiban in Samarinda, quoted by Antara, Monday, March 28.

According to Haiban, people who worship are safer and different from markets which are less safe because of crowds.

The capacity of the congregation of the mosque is not limited, but according to the ability of the mosque which is expected to prosper the mosque.

"Because the mosque was built for prayer, pray for prosperity. Not just a complement to the spatial layout, but really for worship," he said.

He appealed to all Muslims to carry out worship and take advantage of the month of Ramadan, the month in which all human deeds are multiplied, a month full of blessings and forgiveness.

"All Muslims should carry out worship in the month of Ramadan in earnest. Intention for Allah SWT. With the hope of becoming people who are devout and accepted by their deeds of worship," he urged.
