DPR Allocates Rp11 Billion For Asphalt, Welcomes The P20 Event In October

JAKARTA - The Secretariat General (Secretary General) of the DPR, Indra Iskandar, explained the polemic over the Rp11 billion budget for asphalting the Parliament complex.

Indra explained that his party would do asphalting for many things. Because, he said, the asphalt condition in the parliament complex has now been eroded, so it is easy to get waterlogged.

One of them, because in early October 2022 the P20 will be held. This agenda will be attended by 20 heads of world parliaments who are the same as the G20 plus 20 other countries at the invitation of the DPR.

"So in early October there will be around 40 world parliaments who will be here, to prepare to go there, of course we will tidy up all the appearances of the DPR starting from the gates, parks, and all the streets. The asphalt itself is calculated as the total asphalt area is 85,300 square meters, with an estimated 7100 asphalt concrete use," said Indra at the DPR's Media Center, Monday, March 28.

Indra explained that the Secretariat General of the DPR will complete all infrastructure projects before July. Because in August, on the 16th, there will be a cycle of approval of the state budget and the president's state speech for the affairs of the 2023 state budget.

“On that basis, from now until July we will do garden fireplaces, paving, and building fireplaces. Last week, we carried out waterproofing fireplaces in Nusantara buildings and others," explained Indra.

Previously, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad explained about the asphalt budget in the parliament building. According to him, the asphalt in the DPR area has been re-paved many times until it was decided to pave it in its entirety with a budget of Rp. 11 billion.

This asphalting has also been proposed for a long time by the Secretariat General of the DPR. Moreover, there is a plan for the presence of delegations from dozens of countries to the Parliament complex in July.

"This was proposed by the secretary general but it has been a long time. The road in the DPR has been re-coated many times but then it was decided that it must be paved in its entirety because later in July there will be delegates of about 38 or 40 countries who will come to the DPR," said Dasco.

"Of course we want the impression on our parliament is also not good. Yes, you can see for yourself the journalists later, what kind of asphalt is this," he continued.
