Smash Dozens Of Cigarettes In Minimarkets, Thieves Stuck On Building Ceilings

TANGERANG - The Tangerang Regency Police arrested a man with the initials A on charges of theft and breaking into a minimarket in the Cisoka area, Tangerang Regency.

The Tangerang Regency Police Chief, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho, said the incident occurred in the Cisokoa area, Sunday, March 27, early in the morning.

Interestingly, during the arrest, the perpetrator tried to escape through the ceiling of the minimarket. But unfortunately stuck in that place.

"So he wanted to escape through the ceiling, but got stuck and tried to hide above the ceiling," said Zain when confirmed, Monday, March 28.

Zain also explained that the suspect managed to steal dozens of slops of cigarettes by putting them in a sack. After succeeding, the perpetrator tried to escape and wanted to eliminate the evidence by cutting the CCTV cable of the Minimarket. But unfortunately, it was the alarm that went off.

"So this perpetrator cut the cable wrong. He panicked. For fear of being caught, he ended up hiding in the ceiling," he said.

The store employee who received a notification (notification) on his cellphone immediately went to the store with several residents.

“Sure enough, the warehouse was already empty. All cigarettes in the warehouse are taken," he said.

Store employees and residents caught the perpetrator hiding in the ceiling and immediately called the police.

"So he (the perpetrator) could not escape and was trapped in the ceiling, members of the Cisoka Police arrived and immediately took him to the Polsek," he concluded.

The perpetrator was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 7 years in prison.
