Menpan Tjahjo Issues SE, Here's ASN Working Hours During Ramadan

JAKARTA - The Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Tjahjo Kumolo issued Circular Letter (SE) Number 11 of 2022 concerning Working Hours of State Civil Apparatus Employees in the Month of Ramadan 1443 Hijriah in Government Agencies.

In the SE, working hours during the month of Ramadan apply to state civil servants (ASN) who carry out official duties in the office (work from office) or at home/residence (work from home).

The stipulation is that for government agencies that enforce five working days, working hours during the month of Ramadan are from 08.00 to 15.00 on Monday to Thursday, with rest periods being given from 12.00 to 12.30.

Meanwhile on Fridays, working hours are from 08.00 to 15.30, with rest hours from 11.30 to 12.30.

Then, for government agencies that implement six working days, working hours are from 08.00 to 14.00 on Monday to Thursday and Saturday, with rest time from 12.00 to 12.30.

As for Friday, working hours are from 08.00 to 14.00, with rest time from 11.30 to 12.30.

"The number of effective working hours for central and regional government agencies that carry out five or six working days during the month of Ramadan 1443 Hijriah fulfills a minimum of 32.5 hours per week," Tjahjo wrote, quoted from SE, Monday, March 28.

Furthermore, Tjahjo revealed that the personnel development officer (PPK) in government agencies determines the decision to implement working hours in the month of Ramadan 1443H in their agency environment by adjusting the time zone of each region.

"Employee Development Officers in government agencies ensure that the implementation of working hours in the month of Ramadan 1443 Hijri does not reduce the productivity and achievement of ASN employee performance and organizational performance, and does not interfere with the smooth implementation of public services," explained Tjahjo in SE.
