JAKARTA - North Sulawesi (Sulut) Melonguane was rocked by a 5.1 magnitude (M) earthquake. The earthquake occurred at 11.01 am, Saturday, March 26.

The epicenter of this earthquake was at 3.46 North Latitude, 126.96 East Longitude. With the exact location, 67 kilometers southeast of Melonguane.

Despite the location of the epicenter in Melonguane, the BMKG confirmed that it did not indicate a potential tsunami.

BMKG asked residents affected by the earthquake, which had a depth of 10 kilometers, to remain alert to potential aftershocks by temporarily staying away from tall buildings.

"Be careful of possible aftershocks," the BMKG advises on the official website.
