Police Chase 4 Members Of The Fugitive Martial Arts College In Tulungagung

TULUNGAGUNG - The Satreskrim team from the Tulungagung Police, East Java, are still chasing four teenagers suspected of being members of a silat college who were the perpetrators of beating children.

The Head of Public Relations of the Tulungagung Police, Iptu Neny Sasongko, confirmed that his party had pocketed the four perpetrators of the beating who were suspected of hiding during the arrest operation.

"Yes, we are still pursuing this. It is impossible for the police to remain silent. The four people are declared fugitives," said Neny, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 23.

A total of 13 perpetrators of the beating have been named suspects by the police. Of the 13 people, nine of them have been arrested.

However, because three of the nine arrested were under the age of 17 or were still children, the police only detained six adult perpetrators.

Meanwhile, the three suspects who were arrested were not detained because they were considered minors.

Previously, Tuesday (22/3) the Tulungagung Police released the results of the case of beatings carried out by a number of unscrupulous members of the silat college against a number of youths who were considered to be other silat college groups.

The beatings took place in two different locations, causing minor injuries to the victim.

This fighter gang's brutal action is still embellished with provocations by scratching the monuments of other martial arts schools so that it can trigger riots between groups.

The police who handled the case then identified 13 people who were later named suspects.

However, of that number, only nine were caught. Even then, not all of them were detained (only six suspects were detained), because three of the nine youths who were caught by the police turned out to be under the age of 17 or still children.

"The intensity of clashes between fighters during the 2022 period has actually decreased considerably," he said.

Since the beginning of the new year it has happened twice, namely on March 3 and March 18. This conflict usually begins with the consumption of liquor, as well as harassment of the symbols of the silat school.
