Police Shot By Police, Motorcycle Thief Mode Parking Interpreter In Medan

MEDAN - Wahyu Danil alias Bobby (44) was shot in the leg by the police. This Medan resident stole a motorbike disguised as a parking attendant.

The Medan Police Chief, Kombes Valentino Alfa Tatareda, through the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol M Firdaus, said the perpetrator was arrested on the report of his victim, Ibnu Sidik (25).

"The suspect's modus operandi was to become a parking attendant and commit theft by breaking the motorcycle's double lock and taking it away," said Kompol Firdaus, Wednesday, March 23.

After disguised as a parking attendant, the perpetrator broke the safety lock on the victim's motorbike.

The victim only found out about the theft when he was about to go home. The victim did not find his motorbike in the parking area. The victim immediately reported to the police.

"From the police investigation, on Monday, March 21, at around 23.30 WIB, it was discovered that the suspect was on Jalan Gaharu, East Medan, so an arrest was immediately made," said Kompol Firdaus.

To the police, the suspect admitted to selling the victim's motorbike to Fery, who is now a fugitive for Rp. 1.9 million.

"When the development was about to be carried out to find a catch, the suspect resisted the officers so that decisive and measured action was taken, regarding the perpetrator's leg," said Kompol Firdaus.

The theft was carried out by the suspect to fulfill his needs for gambling and taking drugs. The perpetrator is a recidivist of the same case in 2019.

"The motive is to get money to gamble and buy drugs. The suspect was arrested in 2019 in a similar case," he said.
