JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) was angry after it was reported by a number of mass media by quoting a statement from the MUI Infocom Commission administrator, Elvi Hudhriyah, who asked the TV program featuring Ayu Ting Ting to be stopped.

Elvi Hudhriyah explained, every month of Ramadan, MUI together with KPI conduct monitoring activities for television programs to give appreciation and support for positive programs, as well as evaluate and criticize programs that are not in line.

Elvi said that the title and the frame of this article give the impression that all TV programs that Ayu Ting Ting is filled with have been asked to stop because of her status as a widow.

“This is a serious mistake or hoax in generating news. What was asked to be stopped was a certain program during the monitoring that was carried out during the month of Ramadan, because certain scenes were inappropriate and had been given many inputs," he said.

Elvi revealed that a number of certain TV program managers actually made improvements because of the input and criticism.

Elvi explained, if there is a program that is considered to have exceeded the ethical limit, the MUI recommendation will be submitted to KPI to take further action according to the authority they have.
