The Illegal Transfer Of Four Women From West Nusa Tenggara To The Middle East Was Successfully Foiled

MATARAM - The Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) has again thwarted the sending of four women from West Nusa Tenggara to the Middle East outside the procedure, to be used as housekeepers.

"The four prospective Indonesian migrant workers (CPMI) were secured by BP2MI in the Jatinegara sub-district, East Jakarta," said Head of the NTB BP2MI Technical Implementation Unit Abri Danar Prabawa in Mataram, reported by Antara, Tuesday, March 22.

Previously, the BP2MI NTB Technical Implementation Unit had repatriated four women who would be taken to Saudi Arabia to serve as household administrators outside the procedure. They have been repatriated to their hometowns on Monday, March 21.

Abri Danar said that his party had handled the four women who were about to be sent to two countries in the Middle East, namely Qatar and the United Arab Emirates by irresponsible persons.

After arriving at Zainuddin Abdul Majid International Airport in Central Lombok Regency, on Tuesday, March 22, the four CPMIs were taken to the NTB BP2MI Office, to be recorded and given guidance. Sumbawa, and Bima Regency. The four CPMIs were accompanied by their return to their hometowns.

"This prevention is a form of state protection for its citizens because being a PMI outside the procedural level has a high risk," he said.

He said the prevention of CPMI outside of procedures that will work in the domestic sector to the Middle East is a form of implementation of the moratorium policy that has been in place since 2015.

This is based on the Decree of the Minister of Manpower Number 260 of 2015 concerning Termination and Prohibition of Placement of Indonesian Migrant Workers in Individual Users in Middle Eastern Countries.

According to Abri Danar, there are still many other job opportunities in the Middle East region, such as lifeguard, kitchenhand, plumber, carpenter and welder.

"The implementation of the moratorium policy is not easy. Therefore, it is hoped that the local government will cooperate in finding solutions to this problem by taking advantage of other job opportunities," said Abri Danar.
