KUDUS - A total of 147 electronic stalls (e-warong) in Kudus Regency, Central Java, are temporarily no longer operating to serve the purchase of basic needs for families receiving non-cash food assistance (BPNT) from the government.

The temporary suspension of the 147 e-warongs is in accordance with the order from the Ministry of Social Affairs.

"Because in 2022 non-cash food assistance for the January-February-March period will be directly distributed to beneficiary families through the post office," said the Head of the Social Service, Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning in Kudus Regency, Mundir di Kudus, Antara, Tuesday, March 22.

For the following month Mundir could not confirm whether the e-warong would be suspended or continued because he was still waiting for the next order. Until now, his party has not received a notification letter from the Ministry of Social Affairs regarding the e-warong.

With the change in government policy that does not require buying basic necessities from designated e-warongs, the beneficiary families of the BPNT program can spend the aid money through any store.

The value of the assistance received by each underprivileged family is Rp. 200 thousand per month so that for three months they get Rp. 600 thousand.

Of the 147 e-warongs in Kudus, they are spread over in the Districts of Jekulo, Mejobo, Kaliwungu, Undaan, Kota, Gebog, Dawe, Bae and Jati.

The existence of the e-warong is to serve food purchases by poor people who have Prosperous Family Cards (KKS), which previously recorded 18,705 recipients, ranging from rice to eggs.
